Filming 1: Traivon Review

My Review of Today's Filming:

Today we manage to get a a large amount of successful base tracks recorded. Personally i feel that we worked very well as a group which is why the shoot was very successful we listened to each others ideas carefully and although we didn't always agree we found common ground. With the quality and the quantity of shots we have at today i think we could create an extra ordinary music video and today is our first day of filming, i am very excited to film the next few locations.We opted not to use the tripod on this shot because we wanted to be more realistic and not still and formal; so we had a lot of camera movement, shaking of the camera and zooms.The performance of the song was also delivered very well by Stephane it was his first time performing the song and he had managed to memorised most if not all the words which made it a very quick process during the filming stages.

Filming: Day 1

Filming Day 1:Old street & Shoreditch

Today we begun filming we had planned to go to Shoreditch and film under the arches for a dark and eerie feel.We all met at Angel station got on the bus to old street and walked to Shoreditch. Whilst on our way to Shoreditch we found a location in Old street underneath a tower block which was dingy and we all agreed it was perfect for out video.At the first shoot in Old street we didn't uncover any problems and managed for film about 8 different base tracks in this location we found this to be a very successful shoot.

When we got to Shoreditch we actually changed our mind about the location which we were going to film we decided instead of the arches to use Shoreditch Church because of the large coloums and dingy bars surround it ,we also used the large doors and low angle lighting to project Sparkz's shadow on to the large doors.

Skills development: AS-A2

I feel like this year the planning stage of our production has gone much better.This is because our group is great at communicating and we are very accepting of each others ideas.In comparison to last year where my group and i had conflicting ideas right up until the last moment which made it particularly hard to actually come up with an action plan of what we were going to do.Although it may be that we all realise now because we are in our second year what is expected of us in terms of planning so we are trying to do better than last year.I also think another main difference between this year and last year is that it feels alot more independent because we have already completed one coursework unit.Last year i felt i was just completing a load of tasks in order to get a grade or just to do work this year i am seeing what the research and planning actually does when planning a production.

Pitch Feedback

Following our pitch we have decided to make some changes to the ideas of our music video.
We have planned our music video to be very dark and eerie, so initially we had the idea to have Stephane (the artist) dressed in all black clothing. Mary brought up the point of not being able to see Stephane in the dark whilst he's wearing dark attire. When we film we have decided to still use dark clothing, however we will also use bright clothing including his famous blue Hollister tracksuit, and other lighting clothing. the lighting will be enough for us to be able to see Stephane even we he is wearing dark clothing, before we film we will practice using the lights when dark attire is worn. So we will overcome the darkness issues by using dido lights. People in our class liked the idea of our music video, here's what 2 of our peers had to say;

"Jaya said she thinks the dark eerie elements will work well with our song choice, she also likes our outfit choices!"

Lauren said she's not too sure how our shots will turn out due to our 'dark theme but she's not sure how the quality of our filming will turn out, we're looking forward to showing everyone our shots as we know with the help of the dido lights our shots will be good,

StephanePITCH: Evaluation

Camtasia is a form of technology we will use to approach the evaluation. camtasia will allow me to clearly answer the questions.










Using time toast will allow me to clearly show different processes
over time, for example if the question is 'what skills have you 
learnt during the course of the AS that can be used in the A2?'
using time toast can help me clearly visualise the skills
i have learnt and show them on a time line.

Using Prezi will allow me to show a clear presentation of any ideas we have gathered as a group and also individually, Prezi is very efficient as there are many transitions and makes the things i may produce on there presentable.

To conclude, Schoolboy Q's "signature" is his bucket hat as this is something he is always wearing.

Amy Whinehouse's signature is her big black hair, thats what everyone knows her by. However she has other consistant feartures: her thick eyeliner, her lip piercing and her tattoos.

Synergy Task

Krept & Konan recently released a album called young kingz, they promoted the album/mixtape on various songs such as 'Too Young', they do this by putting the mix tape cover at the beginning of the song in order to draw the audiences attention to the album in order for them to download it.

we then see the promotional video for the the album, the promotional video consists of the two artists in the video at most times, signing cd's or performing certain songs from the album.

the main aspecs we see are the colour that relate to the album, so we see Red and white, these two colours go in correlation with the colours in the album.

PITCH: Social Media (by Stephane)

We have set up an Instagram & Twitter account in order for us to interact with our audience, and also to keep them updated.

Setting up the Instagram gives us a place where we can upload our evidence of filming, blogging, editing and so forth.

On twitter we can upload video footages, promotional trailers for our song, pictures and so forth, also because twitter is used throughout the world it means we can broaden our target audience.

Experiment Shadow effect

When watching a Joey Badass video i found a specific type of lighting effect i would like to try and emulate within our final video.The use of lighting in the background and no lighting in the foreground helps show a silhouette of the artist.
